Christopher Bailey is leaving Burberry by the end of 2018. “It has been the great privilege of my working life to be at Burberry, working alongside and learning from such an extraordinary group of people over the last 17 years. Burberry encapsulates so much of what is great about Britain”. Bailey said of the fashion house in a statement.
He began his journey in 2001 transforming the fashion house into a global luxury brand, ensuring he has the biggest names in fashion starring in his campaigns, sitting front row, streaming the fashion shows live and creating some iconic pieces, including reinventing the trench coat every season.
It will be sad to see Bailey no longer at Burberry, there’s been no word on who will take over the reigns, but rumours that Phoebe Philo of Celine might. Guess will have to wait and see, although Christopher Bailey and Burberry go hand in hand. ‘sigh’
